Privacy Policy
1. Overview
CV Lab ("we", "us", or "our") is a macOS application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect — which is none — and how we handle your data.
We built CV Lab on a simple principle: your career data is yours, and it should never leave your device without your explicit action.
2. Information We Collect
We collect no information.
CV Lab does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data on our behalf. This includes:
- No names, email addresses, or contact information
- No resume content, work history, or personal details you enter into the app
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No crash reports sent to our servers
- No device identifiers
- No IP addresses or location data
3. On-Device Processing
All data you enter into CV Lab — your profile, work experience, education, projects, skills, and any other content — is stored exclusively on your Mac using local storage (e.g. ~/Library/Application Support/CVLab or similar system-standard locations). None of this data is sent anywhere.
AI-powered features in CV Lab use Apple Intelligence, which runs entirely on-device. Your resume content is processed locally by Apple's on-device models and is never sent to Apple's servers or ours as part of this feature. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple Intelligence operates.
4. Data Sharing
Because we collect no data, we share no data. We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer any information to third parties — there is nothing to transfer.
5. Exports
When you export a resume (e.g. as a PDF), that file is created on your device and saved wherever you choose. We have no involvement in or visibility into what you do with exported files.
6. This Website
This website (cvlab.app or similar) is a static site with no backend. If you submit your email address via the waitlist form on this page, that action is handled entirely client-side and no data is transmitted or stored on any server operated by us. The form does not send your email anywhere.
This website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.
7. Children's Privacy
CV Lab is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how we handle data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. We will never introduce data collection practices without prominently disclosing them here first.
